The cover is a rigid ABS frame shaped to the exact rectangle of the SEAL's electric tailgate switch housing on the driver's door, just ahead of the speaker grille. Its open window leaves the switch and its pull tab completely exposed, so the tailgate works exactly as before — the frame simply gives the switch a carbon fiber style border with a deep, glossy weave that matches the SEAL's other carbon-look cabin trim.

1. Wipe the trim around the tailgate switch with a damp microfiber and let it dry fully; the surface must be free of dust and interior dressing.
2. Hold the frame over the switch without peeling the backing and note the alignment — the window keys around the switch housing in only one position.
3. Peel the backing from the tape strips on the rear of the frame, align the window over the switch, and press the frame home around all four edges for 20–30 seconds.
4. Pull the tailgate switch a few times to feel the unchanged action. Full adhesive strength builds over the first 24 hours.

Is it real carbon fiber?
It is genuine ABS carrying a carbon fiber style finish, created by water-transfer printing and sealed under a glossy clear coat. You get the deep checker weave of carbon fiber in a lightweight frame that costs a fraction of a laid-carbon part — and it will not yellow or delaminate the way cheap printed stickers do.

Does the frame get in the way of the switch?
No. The center of the frame is an open window sized to the switch housing: the switch and its pull tab sit inside the window and move exactly as they did before the frame was fitted. The fitted photos show the switch in use with the frame in place.

Which door does it go on?
The driver's door — that is where the SEAL's interior tailgate switch lives, low on the door card ahead of the speaker grille. The switch housing is the same part on left- and right-hand-drive cars, and the frame fits it either way.

How does it attach — will it fall off?
Four adhesive tape strips are pre-applied across the back of the frame, giving a continuous bond around the switch rather than a single dab of glue. Fitted to a clean, dressing-free surface and pressed home, it stays flat and fixed; interior heat does not soften this grade of trim tape.

Can I remove it later?
Yes. Warm the frame gently with a hair dryer to soften the tape, ease it away from one corner, and roll off any residue with your thumb. Nothing was drilled or clipped, so the door trim returns to standard.

Does it match the SEAL's other carbon-look trim?
Yes — the gloss checker weave is the same style of finish BYD uses for the car's carbon-effect interior accents, which is why the fitted frame reads as a factory detail rather than an add-on.
