Overview
A dual-cab ute on all-terrain tires is a stone-throwing machine — gravel, mud and road grit blast the sills, doors, tub sides and anything on the tow bar. These wide flat mud flaps are the heavy-coverage answer built for the BYD SHARK 6.
Unlike the small molded cups made for hatchbacks, this is a set of 4 full-size flat flaps — front pair and rear pair — cut for the SHARK 6's arches, pre-drilled with multiple fixing points and screwed firmly to the arch and liner. Each flap carries a bold white tire-track graphic across its face. Mounting screws and a screwdriver are included in the kit.
Why SHARK 6 owners fit them
- Coverage a pickup actually needs — the SHARK 6's wide all-terrain tires sit at the corners of a tall body-on-frame truck and throw debris in a wide fan. A broad flat blade covers that fan in a way a small contoured flap cannot, protecting the doors, side steps, tub and rear bumper.
- Protects what you tow — rear flaps are not just about the truck: they cut the stone spray that otherwise peppers a boat, camper or box trailer behind you.
- Flat and flexible beats rigid off-road — on gravel tracks and rutted ground a rigid molded flap is a lever waiting to be torn off. A thick flexible sheet bends over rocks, ruts and breakover angles and springs back — that is why flat flaps are the off-road standard.
- Multi-point screw fixing — every flap is pre-drilled along its edges and screwed at multiple points (the fixing screws are highlighted in the installed photos), so there is no single clip to pop and no flapping at highway speed.
- Looks the part — matte black with a distressed white tire-track print, sized to fill the arch of a lifted dual-cab. On the truck they read as proper 4WD gear, not an afterthought.
Design details
- Material: thick, flexible PP sheet, matte black — chosen for impact flex and weather resistance; it will not crack in cold weather or go brittle in tropical sun.
- Shape: tall arch-cut profile with a curved top that follows the SHARK 6's wheel-arch opening and a wide, straight drop blade; front and rear pairs are different profiles, as the full-set photo shows.
- Graphic: a white tire-track tread print runs across the lower face of every flap — it is part of the flap's printed design and is identical across the set.
- Fixing points: multiple pre-drilled holes around the mounting edges on every flap — no measuring or drilling of the flaps themselves; you screw through the holes provided.
Exact fitment
Fitment Guide- Vehicle: BYD SHARK 6 dual-cab pickup (DMO plug-in hybrid) — sold as BYD SHARK in some markets
- Model years: 2024, 2025 and 2026
- Positions: behind all four wheels — front pair and rear pair
- Quantity: 4 flaps — one complete truck set
Fitting them
- Sort the set into the front pair and rear pair — the profiles differ, as shown in the full-set photo. Clean the arch and liner area where each flap will sit.
- Hold the flap in position in the arch, centered behind the tire, and mark the fixing points through the pre-drilled holes.
- Screw the flap to the arch/liner fixing surface through the provided holes, working across all points so the sheet pulls down flat and even — the installed photos show the multi-screw result.
- Check clearance at full steering lock at the front and confirm the bottom edge hangs straight. Repeat at all four corners. The included screwdriver covers the whole job; turning the front wheels gives you room to work with the wheels on.

Frequently asked questions
Why flat flaps instead of molded ones?
Coverage and survival. The SHARK 6 is a tall, body-on-frame ute on all-terrain tires: it needs a wide blade to cover the spray fan, and it needs that blade to flex when it drags over a rut or a rock. Molded cups are prettier on a hatchback; flat flexible flaps are what working 4WDs use, for good reason.
Is the white graphic on all four flaps?
Yes. Every flap in the set carries the same distressed white tire-track print across its lower face — front pair and rear pair, as the full-set photo shows.
Are the flaps pre-drilled?
Yes — the fixing holes are already punched around the mounting edges of every flap, and the screws are in the box. You position the flap in the arch and screw it home; there is no drilling of the flaps and no measuring out hole patterns.
Will they work with side steps fitted?
The front flaps mount inside the arch behind the tire and sit forward of the step's front end — the installed photo shows a front flap working alongside the factory side step. The blade hangs in the wheel's spray path, not across the step.
How do they handle gravel roads at speed?
That is their home ground. The multi-point screw fixing keeps the sheet planted with no flapping, the flexible PP absorbs stone strikes instead of chipping, and the wide blade is exactly what keeps gravel off your sills, tub and trailer.
Do they fit the SHARK sold outside Australia?
Yes — SHARK 6 and the trucks sold simply as BYD SHARK in markets such as Mexico and Brazil are the same dual-cab DMO pickup with the same arches. This set is cut for that truck.
